CT Scan

A CT scan is a quick and comfortable test that uses a special X-ray machine to take detailed, three dimensional pictures of the inside of your body. You will lie on a padded table that gently moves through a large, open ring-shaped scanner. The scan is painless, and you will simply need to stay still for short periods. Sometimes a contrast dye may be used to help highlight certain areas, and staff will explain this if needed. The images are available almost immediately, allowing your doctor to review them without delay. Most CT scan appointments are completed within a few minutes.
